rivers, there are somewhere in the region of 30 lakes in the County Leitrim. Some
of the better know ones are Lough Allen, Lough Rynn, Creenagh Lake, Garadice Lake,
Cloonturk lake, Fearglas Lake, and Kildra Lake, to mention but a few.
Without
doubt the biggest of the many rivers that crisscross the area is the River Shannon,
which is only 5Km away. ....Course Angling Centres:- There are course
Angling Centres at Mohill, Ballinamore, Dromod, Carrick On Shannon, Carrigallen,
Glenfarne, Keshcarrigan, Kiltyclogher, and Roosky. ....Typical Local

around lakes and islands, along rivers and streams, through forest and country
parks, up to scenic viewpoints, down village streets, circling historic monuments

Interesting
Local People The "Blind Harper". Among the many interesting
and well know local Mohill people is Turlough O' Carolan, (1670-1738). The famous
17th century blind Irish harper lived in Mohill for a number of years, and a bronze
statue commemorating this inspired composer and musician can be seen in the town.
